Golden Globes 2025: The Most Jaw-Dropping Fashion Trends

By: Jeanette Hernandez

From sparkles and shimmer to opera gloves, here are three trends we noticed at the 82nd Golden Globes!

Latinas had a moment at the 82nd annual Golden Globes last night (January 5). The prestigious awards ceremony took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA. Although the night has ended, the winners and their unforgettable fashion moments remain fresh in our minds.

Let’s start with the winners, shall we? Two Latina stars stood out last night. Dominican-American actress Zoe Saldaña won big, taking home the award for Best Supporting Female Actor – Motion Picture for her role in Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez. Overall, the Spanish-language French musical crime comedy film, which starred Mexican-American actress Selena Gomez, won in four categories: Best Motion Picture – Musical or ComedyBest Non-English Language Film, and Best Original Song for El Mal.

In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Saldaña said:

“This is a first for me, and I’m just so blessed to share this moment with Selena [Gomez], Karla [Sofía Gascón], Jacques [Audiard], and all of my fellow nominees. I’m in awe of your strength, complexity, and undeniable talent. I know this is a competition, but all I have witnessed is us showing up for and celebrating each other—it’s just so beautiful.”

Another Latina who took home a well-deserved award is Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres—making history as the first Brazilian actress to win a Golden Globe. Torres won Best Actress in a Drama Film for her role in I’m Still Here. Fun fact: Torres’ mother was nominated for a Golden Globe 25 years ago! During her emotional acceptance speech, Torres reportedly said:

“Of course, I want to dedicate this to my mother. You have no idea—she was here 25 years ago, and this is proof that art can endure through life.”

🎬 Momento histórico - A brasileira Fernanda Torres ganhou o Globo de Ouro de melhor atriz em filme de drama, neste domingo, por sua atuação em "Ainda estou aqui". A vitória é inédita para o país na categoria. Fernanda concorria com Nicole Kidman ("Babygirl"), Angelina Jolie ("Maria Callas"), Kate Winslet ("Lee"), Tilda Swinton ("O quarto ao lado") e Pamela Anderson ("The last showgirl"). But beyond these talented winners, we have to talk about the most memorable fashion trends we saw on the red carpet.

From sparkles and shimmer to opera gloves: Three trends that ruled the evening:

1. Sparkles and Shimmers

Are sparkles the trend this year? Many celebrities dazzled with sparkles and shimmer on the red carpet. From Saldaña’s black shimmery dress and Colombian actress Sofía Vergara’s chic black gown to Mexican actress Eiza González’s stunning golden ensemble, the stars brought the sparkle.

2. Luxurious Necklaces

Accessories either make or break an outfit, and last night’s statement necklaces were a hit. Case in point: Argentine-American actress Anya Taylor-Joy rocked a stunning floral neckpiece that paired beautifully with her elegant light dress. Selena Gomez also let her accessories shine, opting for a silver necklace that elevated her entire look. Should we all be investing in exquisite necklaces this year?
