Latina superstar Camila Cabello is actually more relatable than we think – here’s why.
Cuban-Mexican-American singer Camila Cabello may be constantly in the public eye, but she’s just like us. In fact, she’s more relatable than you might expect.
In a recent interview with iHeartRadio, Cabello opened up about how she handles anxiety – a common mental health issue affecting millions worldwide. In 2021, it was reported that anxiety disorders were the world’s “most common mental disorders,” impacting 301 million people in 2019 alone. Now, think about how those numbers may have grown since the pandemic…
Additionally, the World Health Organization notes that women are more affected by anxiety disorders than men – something even Latina celebrities like Cabello experience.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t learn how to cope. Cabello shares a great technique for managing anxiety that we can all try. Here’s what we can learn from how she handles it.
Like many Latina women, Cabello struggles with anxiety. She says that during performances, she sometimes has to “coach herself” through the first few songs when she feels anxious on stage. She calms herself by repeating a mantra: “Walk with who you are.” It’s something she picked up from a Buddhist podcast.
A helpful takeaway from her interview is the use of a mantra. When you feel anxious, repeating a mantra can act as a form of affirmation or even prayer, helping to ground you.

The “GODSPEED” singer also revealed her “fangirl” side in the interview, sharing her excitement about seeing celebrities like Gwen Stefani, Shaboozey, Paramore, and Dua Lipa at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Cabello also talked about what she enjoys outside of music, including binge-watching VEEP, reading Sally Rooney books, and sipping matcha. Like many Latinas, she’s into cozying up with a good show, a great book, and a tasty drink – the perfect way to embrace fall, don’t you think?
Camila Cabello’s newest album, C,XOXO - Magic City Edition, is out now.
