Top Christmas Party Games for Latinos

By: Jeanette Hernandez

From a Latino Cards Against Humanity-style game to see who knows tricky Spanish words, here are three party games to play this Noche Buena.

Christmas festivities go beyond food and drinks. They also include entertainment, from watching your favorite Christmas movies and playing holiday jams to enjoying fun games with your loved ones. While classics like Lotería are a must, why not try something new this year?

From the new bilingual card game ¡Dios Mio! to Yo Sabo The Game, here are three games to unwind and bond with family this holiday season. Who knows, you might even learn a thing or two about your family and friends.

¡Dios Mio!

Before diving into the details, I have to say I’ve played it with my loved ones, and it was a blast! This bilingual offering is a Cards Against Humanity-style game, available online and at your local Walmart.

It’s described as a “fully bilingual comedy card game for Latinos, Latinas, and Latinx’s también.” The goal? Mix and match question and answer cards to score points for the funniest and most surreal combinations—not even Walter Mercado could predict!

This game is priced at $19.82 USD via Walmart.

Preguntas

Designed by Hija De Tu Madre, Preguntas is a bilingual card game that helps you get to know your loved ones better. Ever wondered about your mother or tía’s childhood home, or what they’d change about their family? You’ll get all the tea playing the Preguntas Bilingual Conversation Card Game.

“Connection shouldn’t be limited by language; Preguntas is a bilingual conversation game for connecting with the native Spanish speakers in your life,” the website reads. “Play Preguntas to practice your Spanish, deepen your bonds, and ask those important questions you don’t know how to ask.”

This game is priced at $39.00 USD via Hija De Tu Madre’s official website.

Yo Sabo The Game

This card game is perfect for families made up of both native Spanish speakers and those still learning the language. No matter your fluency, it’s an enjoyable way to bond and get to know your family better.

“It started off as a way to remember some tricky Spanish words but has evolved into a way to reconnect with your childhood and share funny memories with your friends,” the website says. “Don’t worry, you can still win by answering Latino trivia or conquering challenges on the Chancla cards!”

This game is priced at $19.99 USD via Yo Sabo The Game’s official website.
