From Kany García to Karol G, discover the Latina powerhouses who took center stage and swept up trophies at this year’s Latin Grammys! Here are the Latinas who won big at the 2024 Latin Grammys — on and off the stage.
Latinas made a strong showing at the 25th edition of the Latin Grammys. From Chiquis to Karol G, this year’s pre-telecast and televised ceremony celebrated these talented queens at the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL, earlier today (November 14).
During the pre-telecast, Latina artists from across the genre spectrum were already being recognized. Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany García tied with Jorge Drexler for Best Singer-Songwriter Song with her track “García.” Bizarrap and Shakira’s massive collaboration “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 (Tiësto Remix)” won Best Latin Electronic Music Performance. Aterciopelados, led by Colombian rock icon Andrea Echeverri, won Best Rock Album for El Dorado (En Vivo). Mexican-Chilean artist Mon Laferte was also honored, taking home Best Alternative Music Album for her experimental album Autopoiética.
Moreover, Argentine-Spanish singer Nathy Peluso took home multiple trophies, winning Best Alternative Song for her hit “El Día Que Perdí Mi Juventud” and Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song for “Aprender A Amar.” Best Pop/Rock Song was awarded to “5 Horas Menos” by Conociendo Rusia, featuring Mexican songstress Natalia Lafourcade. In the música mexicana category, Chiquis won Best Banda Album for her latest project Diamantes.
And that’s just scratching the surface. Here are three more outstanding Latinas who took home awards during the Latin Grammy ceremony:
García not only won during the pre-telecast, but she also took home the award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for García. The Puerto Rican star was nominated in four categories, including Album of the Year.
The Colombian superstar received an impressive eight nominations and won Best Urban Music Album for her latest project Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season).
Colombian singer Ela Taubert won Best New Artist. Her most popular tracks include “¿Cómo Pasó?” which she performed with Joe Jonas during the ceremony.
