Latina Powerhouses: 2024 Latin Grammy Nominees Revealed

From Colombian superstar Karol G to Venezuelan-American singer-songwriter Elena Rose, here are the Latinas nominated for this year’s Latin Grammy Awards!

Nothing excites us more than seeing our Latina artists get the recognition they deserve. On September 17, the Latin Grammy Awards announced this year’s nominations, led by Mexican songwriter Edgar Barrera, Colombian star Karol G, and Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny. But today, let's focus on the powerhouse Latinas, shall we?

Karol G leads the charge with eight nominations. Her nods include significant categories like Record of the Year and Song of the Year for her smash hit “Mi Ex Tenía Razón,” and Album of the Year for Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season). She’s also nominated for Best Urban/Fusion Performance, Best Reggaeton Performance, and Best Urban Music Album, among other categories.

Another standout Latina is Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany García, who is nominated in four categories, including Album of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for García. She’s also up for Song of the Year for her collaboration with Carín León, “Te Lo Agradezco,” and Best Singer-Songwriter Song for “García.”

Colombian singer Kali Uchis earned four nominations thanks to her album Orquídeas. She’s in the running for Record of the Year and Best Pop Song for her collaboration with Peso Pluma, “Igual Que Un Ángel,” Best Pop Vocal Album for Orquídeas, and Best Reggaeton Performance for “Labios Mordidos” with Karol G. 

Other Latinas shining this year include Chilean-Mexican singer Mon Laferte, who’s nominated in three categories: Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album for her experimental album Autopoiética, and Record of the Year for “Tenochtitlán.”

Colombian superstar Shakira also received three nominations. She’s up for Album of the Year for her latest LP Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Song of the Year for her collaboration with Grupo Frontera, “(Entre Paréntesis),” and Best Latin Electronic Music Performance for “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 (Tiësto Remix)” with Bizarrap.

Venezuelan-American singer-songwriter Elena Rose is also making her mark at the Latin Grammys this year. She’s nominated for Song of the Year for “Caracas En El 2000” with Danny Ocean and Jerry Di, Best Pop/Rock Song for “Blanco y Negro” with Lagos, and Best Regional Song for co-writing Becky G’s “Por El Contrario.”

Other Latinas nominated this year include Anitta, Ángela Aguilar, Darumas, Sofi Saar, and Emilia. Check out the full list of nominations here.

The 25th annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place in Miami, FL, on Thursday, November 14. Viewers can tune in from home via Univision, Galavisión, and ViX.
