Discover practical tips for planning a successful trip, from creating flexible itineraries and scanning flight costs to choosing hotels with amenities and preparing a travel-friendly wardrobe.
Is everyone out of the office right now? For those who aren’t – but soon plan to be – here are four tips to plan the perfect trip.
It looks like everyone’s out of the office right now. Summer is finally here, and laptops are closed – well, not everyone’s.
If you’re like me, you’re still working on planning your next vacation. And that’s not a bad thing! While behind the screen, typing away at work, I daydream about my next getaway. But it’s not all about daydreaming – it’s also about planning to make it come to life. We are hard-working Latinas and deserve time off, ¿que no?
From preparing an itinerary to your airplane outfit, here are ways to plan a successful trip.
Visiting a new place can seem overwhelming at times, especially one that’s outside the country. To make things easier, why not make an itinerary? Before you say it’s better to be spontaneous, let’s be real. What happens when jet lag kicks in, and you’re too tired to think of your next move? Or if your desired restaurant or museum is closed for the day? It’s good to have backup options in mind to avoid wasting an entire day searching for what to do next.
My tip? Make a Google Sheet with a soft itinerary. You don’t have to stick to it, but at least write down plans B and C should A go wrong!
Last-minute flights can cost an arm and a leg. That’s why it’s better to plan ahead of time. Thanks to modern technology, we don’t need expensive travel agencies to help us arrange a trip. Apps like Google Flights and Skyscanner can help you determine the best bang for your buck. If you’re not ready to book just yet, getting an estimated price for your next trip is still helpful.
There are plenty of hotels with breakfast included – and trust me, after a whole day of sightseeing, your feet will most likely ache for a morning of rest while you sip on coffee. Usually, “breakfast included” will be part of the hotel’s description before booking it. Other useful amenities: laundry, room service, a gym, etc.
For those who have never traveled, it’s OK to have these questions. For example, did you know that flight attendants advise passengers not to wear high heels? Yes, they advise passengers to avoid wearing shoes, which could be a problem in the case of an evacuation. And guess what? They also revealed that the floors are dirty, advising people to wear proper footwear to avoid germs! Maybe think twice about those sandals…
From personal experience, another helpful tip regarding airplane travel is to have a small bag with a toothbrush and hairbrush to freshen up before arrival!
Now that you have these insider tips, you’re all set for your next adventure! Whether you’re planning a spontaneous getaway or a meticulously planned trip, these practical insights will help you navigate with ease. Bon voyage and enjoy every moment of your well-deserved break!
