Our Colombian queen Shakira will perform at the 2024 Copa América Final’s first-ever halftime show! Here’s how to watch!

Calling all Shakira fans! It’s official: the Colombian superstar is performing at this year’s Copa América Final. The final is scheduled for Sunday, July 14, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, at 8:00 PM EST.

Here’s everything we know so far:

For those who don’t know, Shakira’s song “Puntería” with Cardi B is the tournament’s official song this year via TelevisaUnivision’s coverage, making it a good contender for the mini-show. Furthermore, the press release reveals that she will perform a “repertoire of hits, featuring a performance that will blend her innovative aesthetics with the grandeur of South American football.”

And guess what? This will mark the first-ever musical act during the halftime of the final. Yup, Latinas are making it big!

But let us make this clear: Shak is no newcomer to massive sports events. In fact, she’s already performed during the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show with Jennifer Lopez in 2020, as well as at three World Cups. The World Cup performances include “Waka Waka” in South Africa (2010), “La La La” in Brazil (2014), and “Hips Don’t Lie” in Germany (2006).

“Shakira is an extraordinary South American star who has dazzled the entire world,” said the president of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Domínguez. “Her songs are sung and danced to in every corner of the planet, turning her art into a global phenomenon that crosses borders and is enjoyed by millions of people.”

He continued: “We are sure that her performance at the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024™ will enhance the message of healthy passion and unity through sport.”

The official tournament match is yet to be confirmed. The semifinal contestants will face off this week: Argentina will face Canada on July 9, and Colombia will face Uruguay on July 10. Both winners will then face each other in the tournament’s final.

If you are not watching the game in person, you can tune in via FOX Sports for the English-language broadcast. For Spanish-language coverage, tune in via TelevisaUnivision companies such as Univision, TUDN, ViX, and UniMas.
