Shakira’s “Soltera” was more than just a single and music video release. The Colombian icon took it to the next level by inviting pop stars to be part of the music video and its celebration—and it was epic.
In case you haven’t seen it, Shakira’s “Soltera” music video dropped last Friday (Oct. 11). To mark the occasion, Lele Pons hosted a party at her house, inviting A-list stars to celebrate.
But here’s the best part: Pons filmed everything, giving us a behind-the-scenes look into the pop stars’ conversations as they discussed the music video—and ate pizza together.
Here’s what you need to know from the party!
1. Lele Pons hosted the party at her house. (We need a bestie like that!)
2. Shakira was in charge of the pizza and tequila—and yes, she brought spicy pizza!
3. As a thank-you, Shakira gifted Pons a Dolce & Gabbana backpack, which Lele wore throughout the night. Honestly, we’d do the same!
4. The guest list included Mexican pop stars like Belinda, Danna, and Kenia Os, who shared what being single means to them.
5. There was supposed to be a piñata—but it broke before the party! The girls took it as a sign that someone would get married. Spoiler: none of them are ready to tie the knot just yet. (We get it!)
They also spilled some behind-the-scenes tea on the “Soltera” video.
Apparently, Shakira crashed her purple car for real—and they decided to keep the footage in the video. Pons also shared that she got stuck in the car and had to climb out through the window!
In addition to the pop stars, Shakira invited her high school best friends and her son’s school moms to be in the video. She wanted to celebrate all the women from different parts of her life. In the live stream, she confirmed that all her best friends made it into the music video.
All this talk of Shakira’s “Soltera” and girls’ night out gave us serious FOMO. So, we came up with inspiration for our next bestie hangout!
Inspired by Shakira, our next girls’ night must include spicy pizza, pink decorations, tequila, and a projector playing all our favorite single-girl anthems!
Check out everything that went down here.
