Here are shelter, animal, and grocery resources for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

2025 has started on a difficult note for Angelenos. The ongoing Los Angeles wildfires have destroyed many homes, cherished belongings, and more, leaving countless individuals displaced and in urgent need of shelter and basic necessities.

Amidst this tragedy, the community has come together to provide resources for those in need. Below is a compiled guide to help, whether you are directly affected or looking to support others.

Before diving into the resources, Brilla Latina extends its heartfelt sympathy to everyone impacted by these devastating fires, including the heroic firefighters working tirelessly to contain the flames. This too shall pass.

Housing Resources

On January 8, Airbnb announced a collaboration with 211 LA to assist those evacuated from areas such as Altadena, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, Santa Monica, and Sylmar. They are providing temporary housing options to affected individuals. To begin the process, fill out the form available through this program.

Other housing resources are available thanks to Mutual Aid LA Network. More information can be found here.

Several organizations are stepping up to distribute free masks, water, and food. Here are a few notable ones:

“Although our South LA community is still standing, the primarily Black, Brown, and low-income folks here will suffer the most from the negative health impacts of toxic air quality, and many have lost jobs due to business closures,” the organization shared. “Let’s ensure they know they can visit our Resilience Center for the food, water, masks, and safety they need.”

Los Angeles Regional Food Bank

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is assisting individuals and families with food supplies. To find a location near you, visit their official website.
